Assistant Accountant Job Responsibilities

The selected candidate will support daily accounting activities and help maintain accurate financial records. Key duties include processing supplier and subcontractor invoices, preparing payment vouchers, organizing supplier payment schedules, and coordinating cheque and bank transfer requests.

Other responsibilities include verifying purchase orders, delivery notes, and invoices; conducting bank reconciliations; maintaining petty cash records; and assisting with journal entries, monthly financial reports, and month-end closing. The role also involves checking UAE VAT invoices, preparing supporting tax documents, and maintaining organized accounting files.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
• Two to four years of accounting experience, preferably in MEP contracting.
• Understanding of project accounting and construction-related transactions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as Tally.
• Strong communication, analytical, and reconciliation skills.
