Lifeguard Job Requirements

Candidates must demonstrate the following swimming and safety skills:

• Swim at least 100 metres freestyle.
• Complete a 50-metre swim within one minute.
• Swim 25 metres using the backstroke technique.
• Dive to a depth of 2 metres and retrieve a 4 kg object from the pool bottom.
• Tread water for five minutes without using their hands.
• Communicate effectively in English.
• Demonstrate a good understanding of lifeguarding terminology.
