Position: Mechanical Engineer

• Location: Dr. Ziauddin Hospital, North Nazimabad, Head Office, Karachi.

Job Summary

Dr. Ziauddin Hospital is seeking a qualified and experienced Mechanical Engineer to support hospital infrastructure projects, operations, and maintenance. The role involves planning, execution, and supervision of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, medical gas systems, and other hospital utility services, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards.

Job Responsibilities

• Design and check of hospital AC and ventilation systems

   

• Work rules and safety standards should be followed.

   

• Fire prevention system should be correct

   

• Take care of medical gas systems

   

• Air and temperature control in OT, ICU and labs

   

• Working with other teams

   

• Checking drawings and plans

   

• Visiting the site

   

• Testing and running the system

Knowledge & Competences

• Hospital mechanical systems knowledge.
• AutoCAD/technical drawing understanding.
• ASHRAE 170 – Ventilation of Health Care Facilities.
• NFPA 99 – Health Care Facilities Code.
• NFPA 13 – Fire Sprinkler Systems.
• NFPA 72 – Fire Alarm & Signaling.
• HVAC load calculations, duct sizing, chilled water systems, AHUs, VRF/VRV systems.
• Medical gas pipeline systems (Oxygen, Vacuum, Medical Air, AGSS).

Requirements

• Academic Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (PEC registered preferred).
• Working Experience: 8 to 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in hospitals, healthcare facilities, or large commercial buildings.
